Cambalache is one of the best Argentinian food spots in OC and I cannot recommend them enough! If you want delicious meats, sandwiches, or pasta dishes served the Argentinian way, you should come give them a try! I came by recently with a friend for an early dinner and we went for the Parrillada Mixta and a side of sautéed vegetables. The portion size was huge and the presentation was 10/10! They bring out your meat platter on a grill that keeps the meat sizzling and piping hot and it comes with a variety of meats including blood sausage, skirt steak, flap meat, argentine sausage, & sweetbread. All the meats were delicious and flavorful and you got a good portion size for each meat and they were grilled perfectly. My favorite out of them all was the short rib followed by the skirt steak but the sausages and sweetbread were also amazing! The sautéed vegetables were well-seasoned and not under or overcooked and were a good palette cleanser against the rich meats. Overall, we had a fantastic dinner here and the service we got was great with the staff checking in on us and refilling our drinks often and pricing wise, you get a lot of food for your money here. The ambience was quite relaxing and not too loud and it felt welcoming to anyone coming in. They also have a huge wine/alcohol collection here so you can try out a bunch if you so desire!

This place is perfect for a date night! We keep passing by this place and tonight we finally gave it a chance and I wish we would have came in sooner. We didn't have a reservation but we came in right before the rush so I would recommend making one. Our server asked if it was our first time and gave us some recommendations based off of items that we like. I appreciated that and ended up ordering a few of the items he recommended. We got the empanadas cambalache (order them with a side of chimichurri!), pollo picatta and milanesa napoletana. Everything was delicious! The portions are huge and the price is very reasonable. For dessert, we ended up getting the crème brûlée and the flan. The crème brûlée was amazing but the flan was definitely our favorite. It was creamy and not too sweet. I also like that it came with a side of caramel. We will be back to try more stuff on the menu!

Pros: 1. I got the salmon and it was good. Tender, not dry/overcooked, and the champagne sauce was flavorful. It came with roasted potato cubes which were very nice, toasted on the outside but tender on the inside. It also came with vegetables which were fine (just what you'd expect, nothing remarkable). Overall a tasty and healthy dish. 2. Staff was friendly. 3. Parking was easy. Cons: None at this time I need to come back to try more items beyond one dish to give a more thorough review. The menu looks good with many items I'd like to try.

Cambalache is a gem. They have a great steak selection; and each one is unique with one thing that brings them all together: Chef's special chimichuri. On our last visit, I decided to deviate from the usual ribeye and ordered the linguine ala pescatora. It was amazing! Service is top notch, menu selection is robust and value is great and overall quality is bar none the best you'll find.

Second time dining here and we enjoyed the experience. Our servers were nice and friendly. Food was good though they did take a while to come out. Complimentary bread and butter were good. I usually prefer soft, fluffy bread, but the white bread were warm, soft, and great with butter. * Calamari 5/5 - The fried squid was so crispy and airy. The flavor was just right that I didn't need to dip them in the accompanying sauce. * Gnocchi 3.5/5 - The gnocchi was good, though it would have been better if it came with a better sauce. You got the options of marinara, meat, gorgonzola, pink, or cream sauces. I picked meat sauce just to try and it didn't go well with the gnocchi. It was just a marinara sauce with ground beef that made the dish very basic. A pesto or cream sauce would have elevated the gnocchi more. * Shrimp 4/5 - I added extra shrimps and they were quite expensive at $10 for 4 shrimps. They were tasty jumbo shrimps but not sure if they were worth that much. * Pizza 4/5 - Good pizza, thick and meaty * Linguine ala Pescatora 4/5 - Soupy linguine pasta with seafood. A bit different but tasted good. * Strawberry Lemonade 3.5/5 - Okay, a bit too sour

first time trying argentinian-italian fusion! 'empanada cambalache': empanadas were crispy on the outside and the filling was tasty! get it with the chimichurri sauce because it makes it even more flavorful. 'gnocchi with pink sauce': the gnocchi was cooked perfectly and it was pillowy and soft! pink sauce was okay tho, wish it was saucier.. 'parrillada mixta': variety of different meats and sausages served on a sizzling plate, along with your choice of side, we chose fries! got medium rare for the meat cuts and it was cooked just right. didnt know what sweetbread was, but it for sure has an acquired taste..everything else had good flavor to it tho! the menu says for 2, but the portion was HUGEE and can definitely feed 3-4 people! I love that there was a warm, cozy vibe to the restaurant! and service was good, the staff were very friendly!!
